Lybrel and Seasonique Birth Control Pill Email Scam - About Nicole Dishuk

Did any of you receive a forwarded email-chain this recently concerning the death of Nicole Dishuk with the message: “Please send this to every woman you know - you may save someone's life... Remember, you have a CYCLE for a reason!” Well, obviously this peaked my interest, so I decided to do a little “digging”. This story is a complete scam. It originated back in 2007, but many people have reported getting these emails again!

ALL "information" received via forwarded emails is false; the things they say would always be front-page news if true, and since they were NOT front page news, they're NOT true.

When I receive any sort of forwarded email like this, I check Snopes first. You can normally find any sort of myth-clarification there, and then feel free to send *that* on to whoever sent you the myth in the first place. Encouraging people to educate themselves, especially when it comes to health myths is very important to me, and while Snopes may seem "weird" at first, it really explains a lot of health myths to be just that - myths!
