Hi lissa8869! It's good to "meet" you! What do you think has been the most helpful thing you've done for your Migraines so far? Identifying triggers is still a real biggie for me, but finding I had hidden vitamin deficiencies made a huge differe...

More about me (my health interests and reasons for joining WEGO Health)
Juggling life with migraine, chronic fatigue and chronic sinus infections, I coach migraineurs and people with chronic illness in living purposeful lives, as well as working with small business owners to grow their businesses. I try to keep up with a house on the edge of a big field, a great marriage to a guy I've know since I was a toddler, and the adventures of motherhood with two brilliant emerging adults. Over the years, I've been a practicing attorney, a free-lance writer, a business coach and advisor, and a general egg-head.

My new haircut

Deborah challenged me, so I cut it! (No really, it had been very long and pulling on my migraine brain for a couple years now).

Migraineurs Relaxing Together - More than Just Beer & Pizza

I'm doing something I've threatened to do for a long time. Any of you who've followed what I've been saying at all know that I'm a proponent of relaxation for calming the Migraine brain. It has worked for me, and it has worked for my Migraine management clients, so I'm getting a group of M… Continue

Coming Out of the Migraine Closet

When someone comes out of the closet, they take a stand, and they take a risk. For centuries, gay and lesbian people hid their identities in order to survive. Then a few people said “no more.” Decided to risk public censure, job loss, jail, so that things could change. And things have changed. Dramatically. There is still risk involved in coming out as a gay, lesbian, bisexual or transsexual person, significant risk, but there has also been a significant change in our society around this issue.… Continue

How can you manage your time when Migraines interrupt you all the time?

Isn't it distracting to have the pause button pressed in your life - and you don't even get to say when? How can you manage that? Seems pretty unmanageable, but when I started working out migraine management systems for myself and my clients, I discovered that it’s a lot like managing anything else. I’ve been coaching people for years in how to manage a small business, how to manage themselves to grow their business and have the life they want. You manage by having systems. By:

Hi Megan: We have a new member here who is developing a coaching business (not migraines) and I was wondering if I could introduce you? I thought you may have some tips to share. Hope you're well!

Megan,
I found your typepage blog and loved it!!!!! Sorry I have not been available a lot. I just had a lot going on. I hope all is well with you and I would love to talk, I think at one point you wanted to do something via the net together. Give me an e-mail when you can. It is in your typepad thing, I put it in.
Praying you have a pain free day.

Megan,

Great spotlight interview!

What can I say... we love you here! It's great to get another perspective on living a good life despite migraine. Many of the techniques you remind us of can be put to good use with any chronic condition including chronic pain, so it really crosses so very many boundaries.

You do a super job and I always look forward to reading what you have to say next!

Megan,
Your spotlight interview was inspirational. I do need to learn to treat my system with more care.
Do you use medication to treat your migraines or have you learned to control things without it?
Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge and experience with migraines!

Thank you Megan. Yes you did clear it up. Your comment sounded as if a shrink has no business helping those with migraines if they have it themselves. Thank you so much for clearing that up. I always believe in communication so everyone was/is on the same page. Thank you! Best wishes to you! Hope you are having a pain free day!

Liz - No, no I absolutely agree with you. In no way did I mean to imply you shouldn't counsel people with migraines - my point was exactly the opposite. I had just read a comment you left on the main migraine page - I don't see it there now. I'll have to rely on faulty memory at this point, I believe you said something about how can you help people when you struggle with this yourself? I meant to say you are especially qualified to help people with these issues since you do struggle with them yourself.

megan what exactly did you mean in your comment? That I should not councel someone with migraines? I believe just the oposite. Most neurologist in this field either have this problem themselves or their wives have it can you explain.

Hi Megan...

Can't make heads or tails of this site; hopefully they'll streamline it a bit; soon would be good. //end-complaining//

How's that contest of yours going? I posted another reminder on my site, just in case.
