The New York Times recently released a list where Doctors without Borders, an active aid group lists the top 10 worst humanitarian crises and unfortunately HIV/AIDS is still on the list. The New York Times article is a great read, however, if you're…

Sarah, Excellent article for those who have not seeked medical diagnosis and wonder if they have Endometriosis. It is described here perfectly. I have had it (Stage IV-V) since I was about 14 which I was told has caused my Infertility

Crystal,, I wonder, too, what kinds of pressures are put on couples in the same type of situation you described. I haven't had the chance to look at different societal (and/or cultural) groups and their expectations of fertility (it is on the list o…

Amy, thanks so much for your feedback here in the comments as well as on our call this morning. I have done a little addition and a little editing in hopes of helping spread the word about this issue. It's so interesting to think that medical condit…

Crystal, I did some redefining/rewriting of the sentence you found - it was totally a grammatical error. I must have been in a hurry. I appreciate you pointing it out to me! I agree that it's a concern that HIV/AIDS rates are on the rise, I just wo…

More about me (my health interests and reasons for joining WEGO Health)
I'm Sarah, a late 20-something woman learning to make the best cup of coffee (mmmm, tasty caffeinated antioxidants!). I am a nanny by day and a superhero by night. Okay, well, not really, I mostly do health research, email Marie and listen to the TV. I live with a arthritis-like condition called ankylosing spondylitis and love hot bubble baths. I am a Twitter addict as well as a active blogger. My toes are always cold and I don't really mind it.

I have a BA in German (from Oregon State University) and in Community Health Education (from Portland State University). My ultimate goal would be to educate the health educators but in the meantime I do a lot of reading on women's health, HIV/AIDS and childhood poverty. I am passionate about working towards improved health conditions for women and children of both the United States and globally.

Hi Sarah,

I appreciate the warm and friendly e-mail. We health activists have to stick together. :) If I could find a full-time job as a health activist I would be so happy.

I am the Founder of the Women's Health imperative in Vernon Hills, IL. Our group is about the importance of women taking care of their health.

It's imperative that women learn about wellness, disease prevention and become their own health advocate.

We will meet quarterly to learn about various health care topics and disease prevention. I am in the process of developing outings to
health food stores, organic food stores, etc.

Also, I am working on a health advocacy blog. How, I got started was when I was diagnosed with Uveitis and had a difficult time finding specialists educated about this eye disorder and how to properly treat it. I have now come full circle and am healed but it was an ordeal.

I really consider myself a health evangelist. That's the best description I can come up with because that's what I do!

Take a look at my site and tell me what you think:

The link for teen parents is as follows: http://www.meetup.com/Teen-Parents-Too-Soon/
I am trying to get this off the ground.

Also, the quiz was good.

Warm regards,

Hey Lady!

I am good. I have actually been fairly migraine free...whoohooo! I am really thinking one of the main culprits was my birth control pill. My hormones are finally getting back to normal.

How are you doing?
