I agree that sometimes the pain is beyond being articulated but we have come so far with our human condition, we can't afford to stop trying; for example, I am a diabetic with a nonhealing ulcer on the sole of my foot. Because of my neuropathy, the…

The NYT Slideshow is absolutely terrifying. I don't think I can begin to imagine what it must be like, even though I worked briefly with Alzheimer's patients in the mid-90s.

I've been diagnosed with diabetes type 2 for the past 4 years. I think I must have had it longer than that, but I ignored many symptoms (thirst, frequent urination, headaches) because every injury I received healed quickly. Then I noticed that I cou…

Hi Snowbird! Welcome to WEGO Health and especially welcome to the Alzheimer's group. It's great to have you!

I noticed your comment on the NYT slideshow - it certainly is terrifying. Art can be so expressive and evocative!

You mentioned that you were an Alz caregiver a few years ago? It sounds like you'd be a great resource for the Alz group. I hope you'll share your experience and insight there in some of the discussions or maybe in a blogpost? :)

I just put up an Alzheimer's Fact Sheet in honor of World Alzheimer's Day. Had you heard these facts before? Did any surprise you? I have a feeling you have might have some Alz resources you could recommend? If so, it would be awesome if you could add them to this discussion.

See you around the community! If you have any questions please let me know!

I don't belong to any other groups. I just deleted my page from Facebook. It was too much for me to manage and I've had some long-running health problems. I was a member of Faithwriters, but I've stopped my submissions for the same reason as above. I am a type 2 diabetic and I have a nonhealing ulcer.

Just a little bit of help

I just wanted to share for anyone who suffers from osteoarthritis as well as diabetes type 2: these two diseases combined have made me clumsy, particularly handling small pills like Elavil. I have found when refilling my weekly pillbox, I pour the tablets on the table to put 3 pills in each night's slot, and by using a smaller type of spoon like a demitasse spoon, rather than a teaspoon, the spoon can help to prevent tossing your medications around the table or floor. It was one of those acciden… Continue
