I most recently worked for a small pharma company in marketing. I'm very aware of regulatory process and reporting of adverse events. Will be interesting to see how regulations evolve to include social media.

I have to say that I have no medical basis for this, but I have a suspicion that "the pill" (including all ingested or injected female contraceptives) have an adverse impact on a woman's overall health. I took the pill for years and Depo Provera f...

I may be simplifying too much here, but I have a history with arthritis that often affects my hands and wrists (so I don't mean to minimize your pain in any way). Along with medications, I often dip my hands in paraffin wax. It feels so awesome an...

More about me (my health interests and reasons for joining WEGO Health)
I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis in 2000. I've learned a lot about autoimmune diseases since then and think I can contribute a lot to a community like this. I'm a huge advocate of Bikram Yoga, Enbrel and stress management to manage pain, but I couldn't tell you which has helped me more or if I just willed myself to get better. Looking forward to participating in the discussion.

Hmm. Doubt mom could handle the temp. For me, I don't self-regulate temps real well, but I have heard of doing this (isn't this what Gwyneth Paltrow does?) and it sounded great as I LOVE warm temps usually. I guess I sometimes do my own version - overdressing in coveralls during summer temps to do horse/farm chores. LOL! One way to break a sweat!!!

Hello mothershaffer, welcome to WEGO Health! If you find a discussion that piques your interest, please just jump right on in...

I followed you on Twitter as I too have autoimmune issues. It seems chronic pain just comes with that territory too. I'm always on the lookout for new ways to cope and get better. As you know, these conditions change daily, so how I handle it must change as well. Honestly, I figure the more tricks I have in my bag, the better chance for me to find something that works for that day, that situation. Yoga has been awesome for my mom (72 yrs old). How is Bikram Yoga different?

Welcome to WEGO Health, mothershaffer!

I am so sorry for your struggles with RA - it can be an incredibly tough journey. We have many other groups to fit any interest. I would encourage you to check them out!

I also wanted to encourage you to take a few minutes to participate in our What Type of Health Activist Are You quiz. It's easy to do, and since you're already a WEGO Health member, it helps fill out your profile!

Please let me know if you have any questions about how to get started - or if you can't quite find what you're looking for.

P.S. I also LOVE Bikram Yoga! :)

Be well,
Vanessa
